How to get your card
If you don’t already have your UNISON Prepaid Plus MasterCard , click the apply button on the right. This will take you to the online application form where you’ll need to give details of your name, union membership number, address, date of birth, mobile phone number and email address. Alternatively, you can call 0800 107 8065 to apply on the phone. We carry out a few simple checks to verify your identity and once your application has been accepted, your card should arrive within approximately 14 days. Your PIN will be sent separately a few days later. Sign the card as soon as you receive it.

How to get started
Once you have received your card and PIN, you will need to activate the card. You can do this by clicking the activate button on the right and logging in. Alternatively, to activate your card by phone call 0800 107 8065. You can then choose from the following ways to add funds to your card for spending later:
Free Pay Monthlyo
You can load your card with a regular monthly amount by setting up a direct debit for up to £1,250. There is no charge for this convenient method of loading and you can easily change the amount whenever you like. To set up or amend your Direct Debit call us on 0800 107 8065.
Pay as You Goo
You can load your card as and when you need to (in the same way as a pay-as-you-go mobile phone) in any of the following ways:
By using cash at most shops and garages displaying the Payzone logo. Maximum load per transaction is £300, maximum 2 loads per day on any card. A charge of 3% of the load amount applies.
By debit card here at www.UNISONprepaid.com. Charge is £1.00 per load.
If you choose Pay As You Go you do not need to put any money on the card initially, but you must still activate your card.

How to use your card
Your UNISON Prepaid Plus card can be used to pay for things and in cash machines wherever you see the MasterCard Acceptance Mark. It can also be used for shopping on the telephone, by post and on the Internet. When you buy something, the price is deducted from your balance and when you run low on funds you can top-up using any of the following methods:

How to top-up your card
When your funds are running low or at zero, you can reload or ‘top-up’ your card in any of the following ways:
Top-up Online
To top-up your card online, you first need to register your debit card online by clicking on the login button above. Then you’ll be able to top-up online whenever you like.
Top-up using cash
You can top-up in person using cash at most newsagents, convenience stores and
forecourts displaying the Payzone logo. Payzone have over 30,000 outlets in the UK. Maximum load per transaction is £300, maximum 2 loads per day.

How to get a secondary card
A secondary card could be ideal to share money with a family member or a friend in the UK or abroad, or to give your teenager an allowance (aged 13 and over). This secondary card is linked to your primary card and can only be loaded with funds from the primary card. It can also be locked to prevent use and unlocked by the primary cardholder. How to use your card abroad
You can use your UNISON Prepaid card anywhere in the world that accepts MasterCard cards. There is a foreign exchange mark-up of transactions in currency other than your card currency of 3% of the transaction value. There are no additional fees when you buy something; withdrawing money from cash machines in local currency incurs an additional £2.00 charge.
